Nazareth Centre In August 2006, A.R.C. Worldwide Trust staff visited The Nazareth Centre in Nassau - the capital of the Bahamas, as part of our Awareness and Aid Programs. Opened in 2002, the Centre is a home for boys and girls, aged from new born to 12 years, of which some of the younger children are available for adoption. Children are admitted to the home for a variety of reasons – some have suffered abuse and/or neglect by parents or caregivers; some have been orphaned; while others are sent by state social services. At the time of our visit, The Nazareth Centre was home to more than 30 young children. The Nazareth Centre receives some financial support from the Bahamian government. However, the majority of support is received from the Friends of the Nazareth Centre, which is an organization established to provide financial assistance to the Nazareth Centre. The Nazareth Centre welcomes any donations and gifts from individuals, companies or groups. Financial donations are preferred, so the Centre can direct funds to the areas they perceive as most needy. In line with our Aid Program, the A.R.C. Worldwide Trust donated some nappies to the Nazareth Centre.
