Ranfurly Home for Children
The Ranfurly Home for Children provides residential care to children aged 10 years and above, who have been abused, neglected, orphaned, or admitted by the state social services.
Children remain at the Ranfurly Home until they are deemed ready to leave and support themselves in an independent fashion. Consequently, some children remain until the age of 20 years and older. When A.R.C. Worldwide Trust staff visited the Ranfurly Home for Children in August 2006 as part of our Awareness Program, at least four of the children resident were aged 18 years and above.
Boys and girls have separate sleeping and bathroom areas. However, there are a number of shared facilities including a common TV room, computer room and two main dining areas. A day-creche is also available for children under the age of 4 years.
The Ranfurly Home for Children receives some subsidies from the Bahamian government. However, all donations and gifts are accepted, including age appropriate clothes, shoes, books, toiletries.
If you are interested in providing a donation or would like more information about the Ranfurly Home for Children, please contact the Home directly.

The A.R.C. Worldwide Trust would like to express its sincere gratitude and appreciation to Damien and Rochelle of the Bahamas, for assisting with our visit to the Ranfurly Home for Children.
